Life is full of change.
Some changes are exciting. A new job. A new home. A growing family. Fresh opportunities.
Others are much harder. Losing someone we love. Poor health. Unexpected setbacks. Uncertainty about the future.
Whatever form it takes, change can leave us feeling unsettled. We like stability. We like knowing what's coming next.
But the Bible reminds us of an important truth:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
— Hebrews 13:8 (ESV)
When everything around us changes, God does not.
God Is Our Constant
People change.
Circumstances change.
Society changes.
Even we change.
But God's character remains the same. His love does not change. His promises do not change. His faithfulness does not change.
That means the God who carried you through yesterday is the same God who walks with you today and will still be with you tomorrow.
When life feels unstable, He remains our firm foundation.
God Often Works Through Change
It is natural to focus on what we are losing.
We miss the way things used to be. We wish life would stay familiar.
But sometimes God uses change to bring something new.
In Isaiah 43:19, God says:
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (NIV)
The difficulty is that we can become so focused on holding onto the past that we miss what God is preparing for our future.
Growth almost always requires change.
Growth Can Feel Uncomfortable
Think about a seed.
Before it becomes a plant, it must first be buried. The outer shell breaks apart before new life begins to grow.
The process is not easy, but it is necessary.
The same is often true in our lives.
Sometimes what feels like everything is falling apart may actually be God preparing us for something better.
As followers of Jesus, transformation is part of the journey.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
God changes our hearts, our priorities, our thinking, and our character.
That process is not always comfortable, but it is always purposeful.
Don't Fear the Next Season
Perhaps you're standing on the edge of a new chapter.
Maybe you're changing jobs.
Maybe your family circumstances have shifted.
Maybe you're facing uncertainty about what comes next.
Whatever your situation, remember this:
Change may be happening around you, but God remains the same.
The One who has been faithful throughout your life has not stopped being faithful now.
You may not know exactly what lies ahead.
But you do know who walks with you.
And that changes everything.
